Purpose of the Exam Prep Guide
The intent of this guide is to set expectations about the content and the context
of the exam and to help candidates prepare for the exam. In this guide, you will find recommended HP training courses, reference and study material to help you achieve a successful passing score.
Studies conducted by HP and Prometric show that a combination of course attendance and self-study maximizes the likelihood of passing the exam on the first attempt.

This exam is for systems engineers or networking engineers designing complex networks. Examples of job roles:

Services Engineers
ProCurve Mobility helps network engineers obtain the knowledge and skills required to design, deploy, manage, and troubleshoot IEEE 802.11-based wireless networks. The course provides hands-on experience in configuring and troubleshooting ProCurve mobility infrastructure devices and in using ProCurve Mobility Manager (PMM) to plan and adjust wireless coverage.

Certification Requirements
ProCurve Mobility, HP0-Y18, is a core requirement to be certified as an
Accredited Systems Engineer (ASE) ProCurve Networking and Mobility [2008].
The ASE – ProCurve Networking and Mobility [2008] designation provides certification that an individual has the skills to design, install, configure, and manage complex, scalable ProCurve-based wireless. This certification also has
a focus on the use of ProCurve Manager and ProCurve Mobility Manager to
design, configure, monitor, and manage these networks.
Prerequisites
The following requirements are prerequisites for the ASE – ProCurve
Networking and Mobility [2008] Certification.
AIS –ProCurve Networking [2006]
Attend the ProCurve Security v7.31 course and/or pass the associated exam (HP0-Y11)
Attend the Building ProCurve Resilient, Adaptive Networks v7.41 or later course and/or pass the associated exam (HP0-Y12)
Attend the ProCurve Mobility v8.21 course and/or pass the associated exam (HP0-Y18)
Exam Details
At the beginning of the exam, you will be asked to answer several survey questions. The survey questions are designed to assist the exam development team in accurately profiling test results and to improve future exams.

Number of items: 64
Item types: multiple choice, drag and drop
Time commitment: 90 minutes
Passing Score: 75% (48 items to pass)
Reference Material: No on-line or hard copy reference material will be allowed at the testing site.

Given a set of customer requirements, select the appropriate

3.0 Describe the features of the ProCurve Wireless LAN System, which includes:
• Wireless Edge Services Module
• Redundant Wireless Services Module
• Wireless services-enabled switch
• Radio ports (RPs)

Describe the options for deploying a Wireless Edge Services
Module and its associated RPs
